ScrapTrade ("we", "us", or "our") operates the ScrapTrade platform, accessible at scraphobart.com (the "Platform"). We are committed to protecting your personal information and your right to privacy.

2. Information We Collect
Account Data
Email address, full name, phone number, country, account role (Individual, Trader, Business), and profile photo. Collected during registration.
Listing Data
Material descriptions, photos, videos, weights, pricing, and location details submitted when creating a listing.
Location & GPS Data
GPS coordinates captured during the verification video recording process. These coordinates are timestamped and stored against the specific listing. We do not track your location continuously.
Payment Information
We do not store payment card details. Stripe handles all card processing. We receive transaction records (amount, currency, timestamp, outcome) from Stripe to manage orders.
Usage Data
Pages visited, search queries, listings viewed, bids placed, messages sent, and device information (IP address, browser type, operating system). Collected automatically.
Communications
Messages sent via in-app chat, contact form submissions, and email correspondence with our support team.
Cookies
Session cookies, authentication tokens, and analytics cookies. See Section 8 for details.
3. How We Use Your Information
- Provide, operate, and maintain the Platform and its features.
- Verify your identity and listing submissions (video verification, GPS).
- Process payments and manage escrow via Stripe.
- Send transactional emails: order confirmations, bid notifications, verification status updates.
- Respond to support enquiries and mediate disputes.
- Improve the Platform by analysing usage patterns.
- Send product updates and news (you can unsubscribe at any time).
- Comply with legal obligations and enforce our Terms & Conditions.
4. Data Sharing
We do not sell your personal data. We share data only with the following service providers who act as data processors under contract:
Stripe
Payment processing and fraud prevention. Stripe processes payment card data under PCI-DSS compliance. Privacy policy: stripe.com/privacy.
Vercel
Platform hosting and edge network delivery. Server logs and request data are processed on Vercel infrastructure.
Neon (PostgreSQL)
Database hosting. All Platform data is stored in Neon's encrypted PostgreSQL infrastructure.
Resend
Transactional email delivery (verification emails, order notifications, contact form responses).
Google Gemini AI
AI-assisted listing description generation and price suggestions. Listing data is sent to Google's Gemini API for processing. No personal identity data is transmitted.
We may also disclose your information if required by law, court order, or government authority.
