How to Use ScrapTrade as an Individual

For casual sellers clearing out scrap and buyers sourcing a smaller quantity β€” here's what your dashboard actually does.

Buying

Browse the Marketplace and filter by material, country, or price. On a fixed-price listing, you can buy instantly at the listed price, or β€” if the seller allows offers β€” submit a lower price for them to accept, reject, or counter. On an auction listing, you place a bid at least 1% above the current highest, and can set a maximum auto-bid so the system bids for you automatically up to that limit.

Can't find exactly what you need listed? Post a Purchase Requisition on the Wanted Board β€” specify material, quantity, grade, and delivery country, and sellers who can supply it respond with quotes directly to you.

Selling

The "Sell Scrap" button opens a 4-step wizard: category and details, pricing (fixed price or auction), photos, and location. AI can generate your title and description from a photo, and suggest a price range based on current market data. After submitting, you'll record a short GPS-tagged verification video β€” that's the step that gets your listing approved and live, usually within 24 hours.

Watchlist and My Orders

Save listings you're considering to your Watchlist so you don't have to search for them again β€” you can optionally set a target price and get notified if a listing drops to it. My Orders tracks every purchase and sale through its full lifecycle: paid, shipped, delivered, and completed (which is when escrow releases the seller's funds).

My Bids and Offers

My Bids shows every auction you've bid on and whether you're currently winning or have been outbid. Offers shows any price negotiations you've sent or received on fixed-price listings, with a clear accept/reject/counter status on each.

Analytics

If you've listed anything, Analytics shows views, bid activity, and conversion on your own listings β€” useful for seeing which materials or listing types actually attract buyers before you list again.
